Getting to Virgin Gorda
Arriving By Air
There are no direct flights to Virgin Gorda at present. So the easiest way to get started on your BVI vacation is to fly into San Juan (SJU) or St Thomas (STT) from the United States. If you're traveling from Europe, St Maarten (SXM)or Antigua (ANU) are the best destinations to then connect to a regional airline for transport to the British Virgin Islands.
Arriving By Sea
You must clear customs upon arrival into the territory of the British Virgin Islands. Ports of entry are located in Great Harbor on Jost Van Dyke, West End and Road Town on Tortola, and Spanish Town in Virgin Gorda. For specific procedures, hours, and fees and visit the BVI Marine Guide website.

Travel from the US
From San Juan- Fly to San Juan, Puerto Rico, then transfer to American Eagle, Continental, Cape Air, or Air Sunshine to fly directly into Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport/Beef Island in the BVIs. Once at the airport you will clear BVI Customs, then wheel your bags across the parking lot (it's a 200 yard walk) to Trellis Bay to catch a ferry to Virgin Gorda. You can also hire one of the plentiful cabs for transport as well. You can grab a cold beverage here or a bite to eat as you wait at this picturesque locale.
From St Thomas- Catch a ferry from the Charlotte Amalie Ferry Terminal (it's a 15 minute cab ride; do not walk, it's too far!). Inter-island ferries leave all day to Road Town in Tortola, the capital of the British Virgin Islands. From here you will clear customs, then transfer to one of the hourly Virgin Gorda ferries.
There are also a limited number of ferries leaving from Red Hook in St Thomas that will take you to the West End of Tortola. Both legs of this trip require pricey cab rides across both islands.

Additionally there is a Tuesday and Sunday direct ferry from St Thomas to Virgin Gorda.

Always check the BVI ferry schedules for the latest updates and revisions to their calendar.

Travel from Europe
The British Virgin Islands can be reached from Europe via St Maarten and Antigua. You will transfer from either location to a regional carrier that offers service into Beef Island Airport. Cape Air and Liat are amongst the airlines that offer service into the Beef Island airport.
